Modifications for the Alinco DJ-296

 

 
Alinco DJ-296T MARS/CAP Mod
 
     
A
  1. Remove battery.

     
  2. Place HT facedown on soft surface.

     
  3. Remove silver metal cover plate (Located at lower right corner of back of HT)

     
  4. Locate blue wire (Directly under cover plate)

     
  5. Clip blue wire and insulate the ends to prevent shorting.

     
  6. Replace cover plate and re-attach battery.

     
  7. Hold down [FUNC] key & power on.

Your HT is now capable of transmitting from 216MHz-249.995MHz

Note: This MOD will reset and erase your memories and settings.
 

 

User comment  TX/RX Range
Just picked one of these up;low serial#.

After the mod,mine will now TX and RX doun to 200.000,and as high as
299.995.

BUT,the frequiency display starts to flash from about 270mhz's or so on up.

Not shure if it recieves AM in the mil air band.Havent sat doun with it long enouph yet to listen.
