ICOM   IC-820

                                                     EXPANDED RF   136 -174 and 420 - 460 Mhz

1- Remove power and antenna.
2- Remove screws and open the radio case.
3- Locate logic board (front of the radio).
4- Locate and CUT diode D-26, D-27, D-28. ( Diode D-25 and D-27 is for VHF
D-26 and D-28 are the UFH diodes.)
5- Install a 1SS353 in the open position between D-27 and D-28. ( for cross
band repeater.
6- Reassemble the radio.
7- Reset the microprocessor if required.


Cross Band Operation: |Set frequencies
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Turn ON |Press [ LOCK ] and turn radio OFF
|Press and hold [ M/S ] and turn power ON

TURN OFF| Press lock
 

      ICOM IC-820H cross band repeat modification

Add a diode on the blank position between D27 & D28 on the Logic Board. The part is 1SS353 P/N 1750000390.

After hardware modification

1. Set lock mode. Push [LOCK]
   
    
2. Turn Power off.
   
    
3. Hold [M/S] and turn radio on.
   
    
4. Turn repeater off. Push [LOCK].

Note: If you removed Diode D25 or Diode D26 in the first modification then it can be used in the second modification as it is the same part.
