                                                          TM-221A

The TM-221A is capable of receiving from 138 to 174 MHz. With the mod
below, the rig will transmit from 142 to 151.995 MHz.

1.- Remove both the top and bottom cover. Disassemble the front
panel such that the foil side of control unit (X53-3040-XX)
is accessible.

2.- Locate R25 at the bottom left corner of the control unit.
Remove R25. You may just want to cut the trace on the left
side of R25.

3.- Reassemble the unit. Perform a microprocessor reset.

I would like to extend transmit to at least 154.995 MHz. I removed R22
with some interesting results. First the frequency step changed to
12.5 Hz. Second the "ON AIR" indicator came on with PTT depression;
however, my watt meter indicated no power on any frequency (including
2 meters). Any help would be appreciated.

I have been trying to help our ham radio with the radio modifications and have asked for any type of new radio mods.
However, I haven't received too many.  If all of you contributed a little more,  I believe I would be able to help
all the other ham's that are looking for these mods. I know it is possible to get more mods from all the Ham's because of
the wide range that exist throughout the world.  By doing this we can  flourish and enjoy more of this hobby that
we've taken part in for so many years. Furthermore, I ask you not to forget to send me any modifications that you might
have through email.  I would really appreciate it.
