1 - Carefully pry off the front panel, then
remove the plastic cover from the main
radio.
2 - Remove the large rubber washer that goes
around the top of the radio.
3 - Remove the eight screws holding the top
shield.
4 - Locate and remove R119 (plainly marked)
which is close to IC252, a large chip.
5 - Re-assemble. The radio automatically resets itself.

The American
version doesn't come with the packet data connector. Fortunately
that's easy enough to fix.
You can open the rig by removing the plastic cover, the rubber
gasket, and eight screws from the top. The pads for the packet
connections are clearly visible on the left side of the board.
Hot-glue the wires after soldering to reduce stress on the
joints and put a small cable tie on the cable just inside the
notch in the case to keep it from getting yanked out
accidentally. The wiring diagram for the connector is shown in
the manual.

Change & adjust the maximum (low and high) output RF power: |

Remove
the plastic cover,
·
Remove
the rubber waterproof seal, and remove the 8 screws on the aluminum
cover.
·
Set the
radio so that the front is facing you.
·
Locate
VR1 (measure approx. 5cm from the right and 5 cm from the back)
·
Rotate
VR1 counter-clockwise to reduce the ouput power towards the setting you
desire
Note: the relation between the low- and high power setting is about 2,5
x.
Example: If your maximum power is set to 50 watts your low power setting
will be around 20 watts
