                                                     YAESU FT-41R

EXPANDED RF and Squelch adjustment

1- Remove battery and antenna & belt clip.
2- Remove screw from the back of the radio
NOTE: Location of battery release and Hand strp clip, they will be fall out.
3- Open the radio and remove silver battery shield. (Hand strp clip & batt
release will fall out.)
4- Remove two silver screws from top circuit board.
5- Gently pry top and bottom circuit boards apart.
6- Locate and remove solder from pad #4.
7- Reassemble the radio. Remember the battery clip and hand strp clip.
8- Reset the microprocessor ( Press and hold [UP] & [DOWN] arrow keys and turn
the radio ON.

SEQUELS ADJUSTMENT:

Press and hold [CALL] [UP vol] [DOWN vol] and turn the power ON.
Press [UP Mhz] bottom 3 times. The display will show SQL TI.
inject a signal or tune to a string signal (weather channel etc )
Press [F] bottom for 1/2 second this sets the level.("AD" will blink on display)
Press the [MR] key to set the level.
Press [CALL] to store the level in EPROM memory.

Here is a modification for the compact 70cm (430Mhz to 440Mhz) radio, the
Yaesu FT-41R. This is a hand-held radio & this mod' will give extended
receiver.

Extended Receive. 420Mhz to 470Mhz.

Press and HOLD the Mhz 'UP' and 'DOWN' buttons. (Also known as 'A' & 'B')

Switch ON the radio.

The radio will now Rx between 420Mhz to 470Mhz.

Do the same again to return the radio to amateur band only reception.

Name here is Phil in Weymouth Dorset South west coast of England... and i have a very simple mod for the YAESU FT 41 R and the YAESU FT 11 R handies to make the radio wideband receive !!

 
  1. Turn the radio off
  2. Hold down the two buttons marked MHZ and A + B ...
  3. And turn the radio on at the same time......
  4. Now you should have wideband receive!!

This mod works on my FT 41 and it covers 420 MHz -- 470 MHz FM.

PLEASE NOTE !!
Not all laws in some countries permit the listening of these bands so please beware when in public view or memorizing channels e.t.c..

If you don't like the mod just repeat the mod again and that will go back to normal settings..
